Qualifications and certifications

Diplomas and certificates are issued by IIW Authorised Nominated Bodies on behalf of the IIW. They undergo a strict assessment procedure and they are authorized for a given scope, including product, country of delivery and languages.

Please visit IIW Qualifications and Certifications for the IIW diplomas and certificates for personnel, or ISO 3834 certification for the certification of Manufacturers.

IIW maintains a list of companies certified ISO 3834 by the IIW. the list is administered by the European Welding Federation and available at the following link: database of IIW certified companies

IIW offers different routes to qualification and certification. These include the experiential route and the alternative routes for qualification, to allow experienced personnel accessing our qualifications and certifications.

You may contact an IIW Authorised Nominated Body (ANB) for further information, see the list of IIW ANBs for qualification or the list of IIW ANBs for Personnel Certification.

Please contact qualifications@iiwelding.net or certifications@iiwelding.net for further information.

IIW and EWF operate based on an agreement to offer the welding community a combined system for qualification and certification. As such, they use the same rules and guidelines to provide services, and the whole combined system is administered by EWF.

However, members of EWF may offer qualifications that are designed for the European market and are not available as IIW products. See European Welding Federation – Qualification and Certification for more information.

IIW Authorised Training Bodies (ATBs) are managed directly by our Authorised Nominated Bodies (ANBs). To identify the closest training center you may directly contact the ANB having your country in its scope of authorisation to get directions, see List of ANBS
