Commission III offers an international platform for the dissemination, transfer and exchange of state-of-art knowledge on resistance, solid state and allied joining processes and aims to identify and address the role to be played by the above-mentioned processes on future industrial and societal needs as well as the related scientific challenges. This is achieved through a number of Commission and Working Group meetings, conducted worldwide, where actual research results are presented and discussed beside address “emerging topics” by creating Working Groups as focal points for experts and interested members, with the objective to spread knowledge and elevate the state-of-art in the subject matters in question.
