E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (PWI) was established in 1934. The scientific and technical complex of PWI employs almost 1500 persons and composes the main research unit, production units and 16 self-supporting organizations. PWI has acquired positive experience participating as a partner in the EU FP7 projects, as well in the projects funded by STCU and DFG.
