5th International Electron Beam Welding Conference (IEBW)

We are pleased to announce the first call for abstracts to the Fith International Conference on Electron Beam Welding. This event, co-sponsored by the American Welding Society, DVS – German Welding Society, and the International Institute of Welding - Commission IV, will be held in conjunction with the FABTECH Show in Chicago, IL from November 12-13, 2019. The conference will bring together scientists and engineers from industry, academia, and research laboratories from around the world to discuss current and future trends in electron beam welding.

The format for this conference is a two-day event beginning with a tutorial in electron beam welding following by plenary sessions featuring four keynote speakers. These keynote speakers will include internationally recognized experts who will provide important perspectives on the current status of electron beam welding internationally and in Europe, Asia, and the United States. The afternoon events will include two parallel sessions: Electron Beam Welding Research and Development Trends and Electron Beam Welding Application Trends. Papers involving all material systems are solicited, and descriptions of both experimental and computational approaches are welcome.

Programming is aimed at processing methods, materials characterization, joint performance, and modeling. Additional sessions may be planned based upon the response to this call.

The abstract submission and preparation of conference proceedings will follow IIW guidelines. Speakers are encouraged to submit manuscripts for publication in the conference proceedings. Participants and attendees alike will gain a deeper understanding of joining issues related to electron beam welding and electron beam welding technology – both for present day as well as future trends.

We look forward to seeing you in Chicago, Illinois, USA!
